Sometimes the most useful thing in the world is someone sitting across from you who isn't your partner, your mate, or your boss — someone with no agenda except helping you work out what's actually going on.
That's what this is. One person, in your corner, over as long as it takes to shift what needs shifting.
Weekly, fortnightly, monthly — whatever pace fits your life. In person around Mandurah, or online from anywhere. No script. No program. Just the two of us, and the space to think things through properly for maybe the first time in years
Personal, confidential support for men who maybe outwardly holding it togther but are deffintly inwardly carrying more than they know how to hold.
This is for men who are suffering quietly — feeling stretched thin, disconnected, or uncertain about their next chapter — and who sense something needs to change, even if they don't yet know what.
Think of it as personal training, but for your whole self. Not just the body.
So — what is mentoring, really?
At its core, mentoring is about four things:
What's going on
Where you're at
Where you want to be
What's getting in the way
Most guys have a rough sense of at least one of these. Maybe you know something's not right but can't quite name it. Maybe you know exactly where you want to get to but can't figure out why you keep getting stuck.
Mentoring is where we actually slow down and look at all four properly — together.
It's honest conversation that goes somewhere, combined with real skill-building along the way. You'll say things out loud you haven't said before. And you'll walk away with actual tools — language for what you're feeling, ways to notice your own patterns, things you can use when life gets heavy again.
Sorry — no soundbite answers here
Guys come to one-to-one work for all sorts of reasons:
You know something's off, but you can't quite name it
You're going through something specific — a relationship breakdown, a career change, becoming a dad, losing someone
You keep having the same fight, the same shutdown, the same spiral, and you're sick of it
You've got no one else you can say the real stuff to
You're not in crisis — you just want to stop white-knuckling through life
You don't need a diagnosis. You don't need to have hit rock bottom. You just need to be curious enough to start looking.
What it is, and what it's not
Just to be clear about what you are (and aren't) signing up for:
Not a program with modules and homework — but something tailored to you, in your time, with real ideas and tools to take away and actually use.
Not motivational one-liners or "just think positive" — but honest conversation that goes somewhere, even when it's uncomfortable.
Not about becoming a harder, more "optimised" version of yourself — but reconnecting with the version that's been there all along.
Not a clinical diagnosis or a mental health treatment plan — but evidence-based approaches translated into language that actually makes sense.
Not judgment, ever — whatever you bring in the room stays between us, and it's met with curiosity, not verdicts.
We meet regularly — in person or online — for as long as it's useful. Some blokes come for a handful of sessions to work through something specific. Others stick around longer because it becomes a steady point in their week.
There's no rigid script, but there is direction. Some sessions we'll dig into something heavy. Others we'll focus on a specific skill or tool. Both matter.
You get privacy and consistency. Space to look at your patterns safely, without judgment. And a steady relationship over time — someone in your corner as things shift.
If at any point something bigger is going on — the kind of thing that needs clinical support — I'll say so honestly, and help you find the right person. This work sits alongside professional mental health care. It isn't a replacement for it when that's what's needed.
What to expect from a first session
No pressure to have the "right" starting point.
We'll talk about what's brought you here, what's been going on, and what you're hoping might shift. You don't need to have language for any of it yet — that's often something we build together as we go.
Most guys leave the first session having had at least one "huh — never thought of it like that" moment. Enough to know whether this is useful for you — and usually the start of something significant
